Let It Shine — Scored for SSA or SATB with piano accompaniment, Let It Shine is an original composition based on Matthew 5:16. The work integrates traditional choral melodic writing with contemporary gospel-influenced harmony and rhythmic vitality, offering an engaging selection for treble or mixed ensembles.

I Thank Thee — Scored for SATB a cappella, I Thank Thee draws upon the text of a letter by Frances E. Watkins to Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811–1896). Strophic in form yet harmonically nuanced, the work offers musical depth and expressive contrast suitable for concert performance.

When I Rise Up — Scored for SATB with oboe and piano — is a setting of the poem of the same name by Georgia Douglas Johnson. Composed in commemoration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, the work honors women’s constitutional right to vote through lyrical vocal writing and expressive instrumental color.

Lift Up Your Heads — Inspired by the tradition of male choruses within the Black church, Lift Up Your Heads is intended to be performed in a Black gospel style. An optional bass guitar and drum set may be added to enhance the accompaniment, with ad libitum passages beginning at measure 38 and continuing through the conclusion of the work.

  • In addition to original composition, Dr. Robinson serves as President and Editor of Canorous Music Publishing, where he curates and edits works that broaden choral literature and serve the needs of educators, conductors, and performers.
